Driven by the concept that as native American people, our tribal legitimacy is defined by the federal governments colonizing tribal enrollment status number. This means if a person who claims tribal membership does not have a tribal enrollment number as recognized by the US government said individual cannot claim tribal identity and tribal status. Hence the title ReFOURmation of Identity Charm reCreation with the number four as part of the portrait, because numbers define our Tribal enrollment and status.
