Red Road, Red Carpet
Red Road, Red Carpet is a two color linoleum relief print. Is based on an ink pen thumbnail sketch from my sketchbook from 1998. Close to twenty years later Native actors are walking the Red Carpet of the Oscar awards. This print is my interpretation of that experience in Red Road, Red Carpet. But, the visual concept has a historical context in that Native leaders visiting Washington DC would arrive in their traditional clothes, sell their traditional cloths and buy suits, top hats and canes in returning home.
